A Level

- The Edexcel A Level Drama & Theatre Studies course began in 2003 and since then students have been receiving 100% A- C grades. The A level is split into the A/s & A level courses. The first year the students complete their A/s level qualification and the second year they can chose to stay on and do the A2 or A level course.
- Our course is run very differently to schools, with two qualified teachers and professionals in the industry and guest workshops.
A ‘S LEVEL UNIT 1 – (40% of A’S mark / 20% of the A Level
The first year of the course is based on two texts with practical dramatic workshops, written Exploration Notes and an Evaluation of a live theatre performance.

A ‘S LEVEL UNIT 2 – (60% of A’S mark / 40% of the A Level
The practical exam will consist of a monologue/duologue performance and a group performance.

A two and a half hour written examination based on two plays and your understanding of theatre in practice
